Pasadena, CA-January 25, 2007 - The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) today endorsed the Automotive X PRIZE, a multi-million dollar global competition designed to inspire a new generation of super-efficient vehicles that dramatically reduce oil dependence and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Union of Concerned Scientists issued the following statement:
